Rep. Reid Ribble (R) of Wisconsin says Donald Trump is “likely a racist.”
Three-term GOP Rep. Reid Ribble of Wisconsin told CNN on Wednesday Trump’s comments — that federal judge Gonzalo Curiel could not rule fairly in a Trump University case because of his Mexican heritage — is a “racist” remark, putting him in line with House Speaker Paul Ryan’s criticism.
But Ribble took the matter one step further.
“His comments over the weekend are authenticating what I believe is the man’s character,” Ribble said. “Something that walks like a duck, talks like a duck, is likely to be a duck. If you continue to say what I believe are racist statements, you’re likely to be a racist.”
Just one question: at what point do we just call it like we see it? Donald Trump is a racist.
Paul Ryan also averted outright calling Trump a racist.
Mr. Ryan said Mr. Trump’s criticism of the judge, Gonzalo P. Curiel of United States District Court, was “the textbook definition of a racist comment.”
Even Hillary Clinton, in whose interest it is to convince the country that Trump is a racist, avoided calling him what he is.
Well, I don’t know what’s in his heart, but I know that that comment about the very accomplished federal judge who was born in Indiana to parents from Mexico was a racist attack…
It was the textbook definition of a racist comment because a racist said it. It was a racist attack because a racist made it. Donald Trump isn’t likely a racist — he is a racist.
I’m ready for politicians to stop holding back on this one. We don’t need to wait for anything else to be revealed about Trump before we can prove that he is a racist. He’s not carrying a secret racist card that, when discovered, will reveal our suspicions.
Trump is a man who has insisted that the first black president wasn’t born in America, disparaged Mexican immigrants as “rapists,” called for a temporary ban on Muslims entering the United States, and now claimed that a federal judge cannot do his job because of his Mexican heritage. Those are all glaring examples of racism, because Trump is a racist.
